The lugged track bike

Track or Pista as they say in Italy and not just after a late night in the local pub, is a track bike with a flip-flop hub. This means it can be used as a fixed or as a singlespeed. This bike is “Track legal”, which means it has no braze-ons and can be ridden on the Velodrome. Richard Ayling has been riding and building these bikes for years and knew exactly what was needed. You can read a lot about fixed speed bikes these days, even the New York Times has had an article about the maverick riders of NYC. This attention has made riding fixed “hip”, but the ride to the beer garden or cruising by the local ice cream parlour is not enough for this beauty. Riding “fixed” is a way of life and not just “this weeks flavour”.
It’s important to say here, that fixed riding on the street, could be illegal in your country. Please check this before riding. The PISTA can be fitted with a front brake for street use and we suggest this for safety reasons. You are not a wimp becasue you need a brake!
