USED is proud to represent Xtracycle. The North Californian company, started by Ross Evans and Kipchoge Spencer is one of the highest profile bike-ridin' activist/environmentalist/concerned human-being companies in the world. The way they and their customers interact is an example for all of us more USED (Sorry!) to the perils of common marketeers. The Xtracycle or Free Radical as it is known, act as a bike but works like a truck.
The FreeRadical comes with everything needed for seemlessly adding a trunk and a backseat to your bicycle. It is an attachment for your bicycle that deftly shifts your rear wheel back 15 inches and transforms your existing bike into a Sport Utility Bicycle.
Imagine your favorite bike with the rear wheel stretched out behind the seat, a big, stable platform for a load or a passenger, and elegant saddlebags on either side that are expandable when you need them and are cleanly out of the way when you don't. Best of all, your bike is still lightweight and fast, and because the load is centered between your two wheels, the whole package handles with ease. Suddenly you have much less need or desire to drive around town for your errands.
Picture this: a breezy unloaded ride to your favorite grocery store, coasting reliably around corners; arriving ahead of traffic; parking at the rack directly in front of the entrance; shopping and easily loading your four bags of groceries; then pedaling home, care-free on a bike that handles just as swiftly now that it’s loaded. And grinning when you realize you just turned an errand into a fun, invigorating excursion.
The FreeRadical Hitchless Bicycle Trailer Kit (pictured above attached to a Cactus10 BigBoy bicycle) comes with the FreeRadical base frame, two FreeLoaders, V-Racks, a SnapDeck, cables, chain, and all the small parts you will need to convert your bike into an S.U.B. (9-speed drivetrains may need a new chain as well).

FreeRadical Hybrid
New in 2008: A transport bike with electric motor. This combination can be used for urban commercial service (deliveries etc) as a truck substitute. The FreeRadical kit makes every bike a LongTailBike. The added power of the mortor makes working and carrying a lot easier. Write an Email to info (at) used-HQ.com and ask for a completely assembled bike.
Compatibility:
The original FreeRadical works best with a 26” hardtail mountain bike with V-brakes or disc brakes. There is now a 700c version for touring, hybrid and city bikes; it is also disc brake compatible. Check out the technical FAQ for compatibility questions of a deeper nature.
WideLoader
Horizontal aluminum racks that provide a perfect platform for carrying big boxes and the inevitable bulky object which might be difficult to load. Also includes a nylon sling.
WideLoaders slide and lock in place with a push-button. When not needed they can be removed and stowed compactly in a FreeLoader, or left at home.
Sold individually, their modularity is key to keeping your Xtracycle light, nimble, and capable. (Shown as a pair with two V-racks and a SnapDeck, which are not included or required, but highly reccomended) - more
LongLoader
The LongLoader is a standoff bar for carrying (you guessed it) long loads with your SUB. Package includes cam straps for securing your cargo. Adjustable to work on either side of the FreeRadical. - more

The Ginger Ninjas - the band of Xtracycle founder Kipchoge Spencer - are touring from California to Mexico. Nothing special so far. That's what bands do all the time. Bob did this with his band and Uli is doing it now. But both of us never did it like this: The whole tour is human powered!
