The Virgin Tongues - File under: Shoegaze, Glam, Garage
The Virgin Tongues are a Berlin band, two yanks and a brit. The brit grew up in Germany, in Quakenbrück to be exact. He's Bob's eldest son Mike, and his band "The Virgin Tongues" could be described as a 70's band beamed into the present. Sounds like The Velvet Underground, Andy Warhol and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Their first hit 'Six Feet Underground' is on heavy rotation in every in-club in Berlin. Their first full-length album is already recorded and will be released pretty soon...
In Berlin the people have this to say about the Virgin Tongues: They always out of money looking for free booze while being surrounded by the hottest chicks in town. #envy. Check out the "6 feet underground" video:
On a downside, after a tour of Island, Duncan the singer was involved in an accident and was hospitalised for the last two months. Thankfully he's getting better now and should be back on stage soon. You can visit the Virgin Tongues on their MySpace page here.
